I think the default makes sense, but it would be sweet if I could see just the titles of my linked references instead of scrolling a whole bunch.
Alternatively, if it just remembered the collapsed state, that would work pretty well too for me

I would say not just for linked references, if something is indented, likely means it is less important, thus should / could be less visible.
You can “collapse/expand all” within a page already.
Right click on the block’s dot thinggy to get the dropdown menu, or use cmd + up/down shortcut
